THE NIGERIAN STORY | Arogundade Shalom Omolayo
Freedom is not yet free, It's price is expensive.
The people desired a change,
Change came and changed their lives.

I'll tell you briefly of a place,
not just a place but a nation.
Not only a nation but a habitation,
For a people called Nigerians.
With a minimal percent of foreigners.
Nigeria! The giant of Africa,
Every nation's envy -
But how long will you continue to feed thy people,
With pains for a call out to freedom?
Nigeria! A place where the people do not value themselves.
A place where the rich tramples on the poor.
A place where the people are tired of living
And in dire need of freedom.
Freedom is not yet free, It's price is expensive.
The people desired a change,
Change came and changed their lives.
Worse than it was before.
No more "united we stand divided we fall."
The mouth of the just is now forcefully shut.
Unity and faith, peace and progress we recite,
But insecurity made motherland a murder-land.
Nigeria! We are hopeful that someday,
Freedom will truly become free.
We will rise in unity,
So we can speak the language of love and peace.
