CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS.
We want to see works talking about growth, how you evolved from what you identified as once ago into your present self, tell us about the pains of becoming and the sacrifices it often time entails, bare it all to us, and our editors can take it all in.
Submission Guidelines.
- We accept and publish all genres of works. These include Short stories, Poems, Articles, Book Reviews, etc. This means that your genre and style of writing will be accepted where it meets our standards. Short stories and articles should be between 800 and 1000 words and poems should be at most 30 lines. Please note that poems beyond 30 lines would be thrown out.
- Every work you intend to send should be in one document attachment (doc, Docx, PDF). If the work is a google doc file, please ensure you permit us to access it before you send it to us. The title of your document should be your full name and the name of your piece(s). Send up to 2 pieces, do not send more than 2 as anything above that will be thrown out, it is to ensure we have enough time with your pieces to make a decision on it and give you feedback on your work in a quick time.
- Submissions are through email. The title of your email should be BECOMING while the body should have your name and the genre you are submitting. This is to ensure that your email is acknowledged and sent to the editors in charge.
- By default, we assume you own the story: it hasn’t been published anywhere before, it is an exclusive submission and we don’t mind simultaneous submissions (just keep us informed if it gets accepted somewhere else).
- We love to know more about our authors and so we encourage you to provide a brief bio (200 words maximum). This goes along with your submission so it should be on the document itself, not the body of the mail.
- As regards criticism and feedback, We do not provide detailed critiques and feedback as standard, however, we often provide comments from the editors especially if the rejected work is a close call. Our motive is to encourage. We are all writers so we can relate to what it’s like to get a rejection note.
- We are sad to add this part but ArkoreWrites does not pay writers yet. We hope that we can but for now, all we offer is our audience.
- If your work is accepted, a mail will be sent to you before publishing.
- The deadline for submission is 17th October and we look forward to reading your work and publishing it.
- All works should be sent to arkorewrites1@gmail.com also, feel free to reach out to us there or on our Instagram page here
