An illusion of rights drives our passion
freedom restored but not our naivety
our land is now a breeding ground for vipers

"You shall grow tall among all others
the fruits on your vineyard be desired by all
the soil you walk on be filled with resources
even from your river others must come to drink"
this is the prophecy of my home.
The beauty of my land was seen by all
yet in factions rogues came in and like a whirlwind
everything was taken from us
we fought so hard to regain our stand
our freedom restored but never the same again.
An illusion of rights drives our passion
freedom restored but not our naivety
our land is now a breeding ground for vipers
worms ate our sincerity
and termintes bored holes into our sincerity.
My people wallow in hunger and insecurity
we now despise the freedom given to us
since our kings traded our freedom for wealth
now rogues dined with our royalties.
once praised, now despised
that is the story of my home
is it now finished for us?
My people flee and seek refuge in foreign land
the remaining ones groan in pain
Who defines a home and call it Nigeria?
facts and history all lay before me
since my home is set upon the hills
eyes from every nation must see us.
Destruction and separation looms around us
but i still see the ancient beauty in the ruins
my home is despised and ridiculed by all
i stand to gather the shattered pieces
the prophecy will come to pass
but i cant do it alone
will you stand with me to rebuild our home?
