Softly Comes the Pain
Softly comes the pain
Like dewy drizzles on your arms
After a night spent waiting
For the visitor who never stays.
Sweetly trickle joys
And memories of joys
At the end of an era
In a realm outside time.
Sharply stinks the bile
Of sour steps and broken trust
When paths lead you astray
And turn back you must.
Gladly comes acceptance
Of friends granted by chance
And loves that break or mend
As in the timeless cycle of many lives
The searcher finds himself.
