I'm at my Funeral
By Korede Teriba
i'm at my funeral
a celebrator, rejoicing
my death
i'm a witness to requiems
sung to my cancerous
self taking earth as it's
coverlet for its eternal sleep
the Shepherd lowers my
my coffin into earth's open mouth
and the redeemed of His
celestial Ecclesia say,
"dust to dust. ashes to ashes"
the slain Lamb, risen, bears
in His pierced hands a bowl
of white blood
i drink of this -
an initiation into
God's elect.
Glory TO God!
