Be Thankful
The human mind is wired to want 'more' which makes them not to really look at themselves, and appreciate what they already have available.
The 'more' could be more money, success, career shift, recognition etc. The desire for more isn't bad, what is bad about it is that they are always looking for what more they can get, without taking stock of what they already have.
Robert Brault said "Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things." This means that,
You shouldn't skip your present by not being aware of where you are, what you have been able to achieve, and not being thankful for them.
Yes, the year might not have turned out as you expected, but you're alive, that should count for something right?
You didn't get that promotion, crush your goals, achieve financial shift, but you are still breathing and well, right?
You have done enough as it is. So,I don't want you to beat yourself up for what you failed to do, or for what didn't work out. I don't want you to overthink.
Just be in the moment and appreciate.
Be grateful for the small things in your life, be appreciative of the point you are, right now. Thank God for all the things he has done for you. It might not seem like much, but when you start, you'll realize that there is a whole lot to be grateful for.
I would recommend that you make a list of all the good things that has happened to you this year, after listing, take time to appreciate God for everything written there, because as Robert Quillen said "If you count all your assets, you always show a profit."
