I knew What I Was Becoming

Like a waste in the gutter
Drifted by enormous erosion,
I staggered and floated
Uncontrollably in this dirty path
That lead to my greener pastures.

I had waved many blows away
And hit by many more by the way,
Turning my eyes and soul,
Making me to form a circle
'On a single spot'
(So I thought, but I was moving).

I had been drifted away by the erosion of time
And the river of struggle
Tossing me here and there
In this looming field of endless water:
Water that cook but boil not food
Water that is hot, but make not tea
Water that is big, but drift not a canoe,
This water, water of endless struggle.

Soon, I saw a roof approaching
Or was it me approaching one?
Though the river knew not.
I saw the top so clear from the cliff
Or was it a valley?
But I knew I was getting closer to
The roof top, my destination,
To a beautiful bank indeed.
The river soon depreciate in power
But I grew more in hope and optimism
For I knew what I was becoming.

But again,
Closer to this roof was another feud
Ignited by rocks and holes
Mixing the water with force
Making waves an endless activity.
Yet I was calm and cool,
Though sweating in pains and agony
But still holding to the pole of hope and optimism.

I knew what I was becoming,
That great man indeed I knew I'm.
The force in the wave had only helped in my journey
For it drifted me to roof top
Faster than supposed.
I held fast to a branch of the building
Saving myself from the drift.

Now I'm in a new domain
Being celebrated by aliens.
Now I'm on my way to the alien's chapel
Well lit with white candles. Then
I knew what I was becoming:
A great man indeed.
