Why are baby boys always bouncing

When Baba Agba announced the birth of my elder brother,

He announced him as a bouncing baby boy.

He never bounced in his cot, 

till when time passed on him.

And when my little sister broke the womb of Mama,

& came out victorious that Friday evening.

Mama announced she gave me a baby girl,

Will she never bounce too like Egbon?

Maybe the spring that made Egbon bounce 

when he was laid in his cot 13 years ago, 

now absent from Baby

When Egbon bounced out each day,

Mama went to bed sleeping joyfully.

Once Baby bounced out,

Mama always took her stool to the gate,

to wait for her even at mid-day. 

Maybe Baby was never made to bounce after all,

But Egbon was made to bounce like Papa.
