4 EASY WAYS TO PREVENT PIMPLE/ACNE SCARS.
Nobody is ever happy to look in the mirror and find their face littered with ugly dark acne scars. Secretly, we all crave a blemish free skin even though many people act nonchalant about it.
You should note, that what we mostly call a pimple or acne scar is only a temporary discoloration of the skin also known as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) and not a true scar. Pimple scars will take months to heal while deep scars can take years. But, you shouldn’t have to make the decision of whether to let the scars fade off on their own or speed up the process if you take preventive measures. Prevention is always better than cure.
There are so many things and temptations you need to avoid if you don’t want your face looking like a brown fabric with black polka dots. Here are five easy ways to prevent acne scars:
Are you prone to scarring?
Knowing the answer to this question will give you more insight as to how best to care for your skin. The truth is that while many people come through a severe case of acne with a truckload of pimple scars, some might get only a handful of scars and others might survive the nerve-wracking experience without a single scar. If you would like an answer to this question or even if you already know your answer, consult a dermatologist or a skin care specialist to discuss pimple treatment options.
Don’t squeeze that pimple!
Oh! I know that feeling… the temptation is always so strong but, you need to pass it up! Never squeeze, pop or pick at pimples. Popping pimples can worsen inflammation, extend the healing time and increase your chances of having a scar. Instead of picking your pimple, you can read my article on how to get rid of pimples naturally and apply those methods. Or, you can purchase a cream that is made for that purpose and has natural ingredients from a reputable skin care brand.
Treat pimples/acnes as soon as they develop
Don’t wait until your pimple gets inflamed before you treat it. Quick treatment prevents acne from taking on a more severe form. Get the situation under control as soon as possible. If you don’t know how to do that, there are some simple natural remedies you can use. You can also contact your skin care specialist. If your acne isn’t getting better with natural remedies or creams, see a doctor immediately.
Reduce Inflammation
Angry large red pimples are more susceptible to scarring. You should always aim at reducing inflammation to avoid the risk of scars. Ice can help during times like this. Don’t do anything that can further irritate your skin like continuous touching or aggressive scrubbing. Keep your hands away from your face and avoid harsh skincare products.
Follow these preventive measures and you won’t need the cure to pimple/acne scars anytime soon. Also, let me know if this article was helpful in the comment section.
