THIEF OF TIME
Sometimes, when it's Monday mornings, I find myself creating a to-do list and by midday, I would have pushed many of those activities backwards.
At the end of the day, when I evaluate my performance, I always feel guilty. This is the exact definition of Procrastination.
I pushed those activities back, not because I was lazy but for a long list of reasons which might include lack of motivation, misplacement of priority, lack of discipline and a whole lot more.
Some might ask, how this is different from laziness? I know this because I feel lazy too whenever I procrastinate, but recently, I found out that the guilt trip I feel at the end of the day is the main difference between procrastination and laziness.
Procrastinators put off doing things or leave them to the very last moment and actually feel guilty about it but lazy people on the other hand, don't do anything and they are just fine with it.
Next time, don't use laziness as a synonym for procrastination because only by giving the right name to your problem can you start working on it.
A more conventional definition of the word ‘Procrastination' is trouble persuading yourself to do the things you should do or would like to do. Whichever way, there is no justification for procrastination or procrastinators.
Procrastination is a thief, it steals your time, you have to fight it! It is one of the fierce enemies most of us face and the obstacle stopping most people from making decisions and achieving their dreams.
It is time for you to wake up and fight because while you waste your time, hesitating and postponing, you wouldn't know the time when all the good opportunities and life itself will slip away. Meanwhile all these wasted time could be invested in something meaningful.
Watch this space! We'll talk about the major reasons why you procrastinate and how to overcome this fierce enemy that has begun to swallow your dreams and aspirations whole.
