A Way Out, Nigeria.
They did arise, but our compatriots were silenced,
They obeyed Nigeria's call even to death,
They were proud to serve our father's land,
The love for Nigeria were until their last breath.
At 60, are the labors of our father's land rewarded?
Shall we then say they toiled in vain?
Have we put our hearts into making it better,
For the sake of unity, can we endure pain?
Seems we need the creator to direct our noble cause,
And to guide our leaders right,
Our youths need to know the truth,
For in love shall we better our plights.
A just and true life of every Nigerian,
Ensuring that Nigeria attain those lofty heights,
Collectively building a peaceful country,
One in which and justice shall reign.
Shall we then pledge allegiance to the common cause,
In all sense of faithfulness and honesty,
Collectively strengthened to ensure things work,
And seeing that we defend her unity.
Upholding her honor and glory,
And seeing that we are one, be it north, west, east, or south,
Let the ones yet unborn hear our story,
That we were the generation that found a way out.
