Kore Akarakiri’s Review of the Book Mindset: The New Psychology of Success by Carol S. Dweck, Ph.D.
Every groundbreaking change begins
with awareness—awareness of what is missing and needs to be found or what is
wrong and needs to be fixed.
In this book, the author discusses two major mindsets: the growth mindset and the fixed mindset. The growth mindset embraces growth and learning, believing that what is unknown can be known and learned.
In contrast, the fixed mindset believes that if an ability
isn’t innate, it cannot be acquired. These two mindsets are deeply ingrained in
the people we encounter in various aspects of life—whether as students,
teachers, parents, coworkers, or clients.
The mindsets we hold shape our
relationships, how we perceive and accept or repel others, and our approach to
learning or teaching, whether as parents, educators, or in business. Thus, this
book is a well-rounded guide for personal growth.
If you want to understand why you
see life the way you do and how it affects your actions, and wish for a review of your mind, then
this is a book you
should get at your nearest bookstore.
This is one book I just haven't gotten around to reading yet. This review gives me the push to end my procrastination and pick up the book. I appreciate it.
