The War You Never Fought
You lost the battle before you even had the chance to fight,
Not because the odds were too great,
But because you surrendered before the war began.
You let fear carve trenches in your heart,
Made excuses from shadows,
And built walls where courage should have stood.
The battlefield stretched wide and uncertain,
Yet you chose the comfort of defeat,
Clothed in doubt and hesitation,
While victory quietly whispered your name.
You lost the battle—
Not to the enemy,
But to the war within.
You never learned the strength of your own will,
The fire that could have sparked the stars.
You bowed before the storm
Before the thunder could even roar.
You lost the battle,
Not because you weren’t strong enough,
But because you never gave yourself
The chance to rise.
