Bittersweet Home

Home of bittersweet memories;
of paralleled joy and sorrow
Sometimes like bitter leaves
With anxiety and fear every morning
Greeting me with punishment and assignments
Sweeter than honey, or sugarcane perhaps
Days of learning, sharing, caring, and friendship
You are a home of discipline;
Sometimes I felt like quitting you
But then, what will the future entail
Without your morals?

Today, I bid you farewell
With music, drums, and cheerful excitement
Lurking around your atmosphere in its entirety
I, with my proudly worn gown
Standing ten-toes amidst my mates
Who’ve travelled this journey with me
Its sharp turns, edges, and thorns
Tears of joy in our eyes
As the Principal announces us as graduates
Finally set free to the world
To begin a new journey; an evolution
Of becoming graduates from undergraduates.
