THREAD OF HOPE

"Hope lives in me; a sty,

with dreams as clear as the non-cloudy sky."

For every laugh we break during crying time, 

and our voices echoing strong songs of hope that barely rhyme.

For every drop of tear swallowed when hunger strikes,

and the lands we farmed —

a mixture of wealth in desert. 

Our bodies are streams of problem 

that scream in our heads,

we swim in dreamy solutions, 

roll on dry beds,

our tired hearts wear sweats like perfume daily. 

We are humans programmed to never give up

for a better tomorrow, threadly, 

barely shall come. 

That we think more pain is more strength,

and the belief that God’s time waltzes 

with goodness in endless length.

We find everything to be ungrateful for,

yet we pay tithe for the breaths 

as though we breathe

with no ease, we don't forget to feel lucky for being alive.

This home is a house furnished with 

fears of my country's past, 

rest your weary souls on the arms

of loved ones so tears may dry fast, 

ignore the ninety nine thousands facts about doubts,

follow the dark road of one's certainty.

Cheers to those we meet again,

it has been long lost days, 

wear a smile for the lost memories of broken days, 

because hope lives inside this pocket: the home

of unexpected washed notes that houses helpless hunger.

Hope lives in me; a sty,

with dreams as clear as the non-cloudy sky.

it lives in you – a sweet spring that

walks in the middle of a bitter winter.

Hope lives in our sour hearts of yesterdays, 

we fight to live a better today, 

but still have faith in the best yet to come. 

For tomorrow is ours to own - the best is yet to come.
