Heart's Real Estate
Real estate is real—and has long been one of the most trusted investment strategies of all time. But I'm not talking about landed property here; I'm referring to the real estates in the hearts of people.
The heart is vast, just like the earth, and it can hold many at once. Yes, we all prioritize different people at various times and phases of our lives. But here's the question: measure the hearts you've invested in—how? By their actions and their words. Do they align? And if they do, do they reflect the same depth and value as your investment?
Yes, we are called to love everyone, even those who wrong us, but we must also carry our heads—with the brains in them. Let the brain do its part while the heart does its own. That way, you don’t end up investing deeply in someone’s emotional real estate, only to discover that the small kitchenette they showed you in their heart wasn’t even real.
In matter of love and hearts, It’s often wiser to invest without expecting a return—like casting your bread upon the waters, not knowing or caring which fish will eat it or if any return will come. That’s better than placing your whole heart in an investment you already know will yield nothing—or worse, return with thorns. And when you recieve a return from people, guide it with all diligence while you still remember, they are only human, after all.
