The lover in my dreams by Gloria James
I danced with a faceless man, with steps like a gentle waltz
We twirled on the beach sands, under the sun's bright kiss
We rode on a rainbow-colored unicorn, through fluffy clouds of bliss,
Even the celestial bodies rejoiced at our love's tender wish.
His fingers traced my skin, like a whispered promise,
Sending shivers down my spine, and awakening my heart's beat
How I long to lose myself, in the heat of our passion's fire
To be madly in love, just for another moment, my heart's desire.
But when dawn breaks, and dreams fade away
You are not here, just a sketch on my pad, a memory that stays,
Leaving me with just a whisper of your name.
A bittersweet reminder of a love that I never had, a heart that still feels the same.
