HOW DO I TELL YOU YOUR VICTORY IS MY GREATEST FEAR?
Would it be wrong to hide you under a bushel so only I can see you?
Would you be angry at me for being that jealous?
Jealous of the light that you stand under,
The sort that brings the world and all that yonder,
Raising you like a trophy,
A thing to admire and kept on their shelves.
How do I say 'I want you' without sounding evil?,
How do I place you on shelves only I can reach?
Do you see this isn't some random jealousy?
I can't trust them to not want pieces of you that I have sewn together in the mist,
It will be your parts shared among this crowd,
And when all of you is gone,
How do I piece you back together?
How do I find myself in this new gear you wear?
How do I tell you your victory is my biggest fear?
Maybe, tell 'em, no winner, no vanquish. So all fears lay.
