Manifestos Of 2023 Presidential Election Aspirants

Election times are a great time to reflect on governance and be actively involved in the decision making process of a democratic setting.

As Nigerians prepare to go to the polls on Saturday, 25th of February, 2023 to decide the people who would rule them in both the Presidency and the legislative arm, we bring to you an exposition on the 13 presidential aspirants remaining, after 5 out of the initial 18 collapsed their structures for Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party.

 
1. Imumolen Christopher – Accord Party (AP)
Prof. Christopher Irene Imumolen, (age 39) is an educationist, a university professor, a serial entrepreneur, a business mogul and a Nigerian politician. Among many of his manifestoes, he promised:

A. To revive dead industries.
B. Fix Nigeria’s topsy-turvy educational system six months after coming into power.
C. Formulate policies that will encourage local production and manufacturing.

2. Sowore Omoyele – African Action Congress (AAC)
Omoyele Sowore, (age 52) is a Nigerian human right activist known for his several protests and agitation movements, founder of Sahara Reporters, a writer and a lecturer. He is the founder of African Action Congress (AAC) and he ran as its presidential candidate in 2019 and now in 2023. Three among his numerous promises to Nigerians include:

A. Flush out corrupt politicians and redeem the country.
B. Modify public education and increase investment in critical infrastructure, especially energy.
C. Revolutionary programmes to secure the country.

3. Sani Yabagi Yusuf – Action Democratic Party (ADP)
Yabagi Yusuf Sani, (Jakardan Nupe – meaning Ambassador of Nupe) (age 65) is a Nigerian politician, Energy and crude oil expert and he is the current National Chairman of The Action Democratic Party (ADP). He was a presidential candidate in the 2019 election. Below are some of his manifestos:

A. The human and material resources of the country would be harnessed to promote decent and quality living for Nigerians.
B. To stabilize the economy, there is a great need for good fiscal and monetary policy plans.
C. Given the stupendous natural and human resources available, the country should have no business being poor and the people should be much better off in their welfare and living standard.

4. Tinubu Bola Ahmed – All Progressives Congress (APC)
Bola Ahmed Adekunle Tinubu (BAT, Jagaban of Lagos), (age70) is a Nigerian accountant and politician who served as the governor of Lagos state for 8 years and senator for Lagos during the brief third republic. As the bright mind he is, he has plans for Nigeria, and among his 10 manifestoes, we have these three:

A. Generate, transmit and distribute sufficient, affordable electricity to give our people the requisite power to enlighten their lives, their homes, and their very dreams.
B. Make basic healthcare, education, and housing accessible and affordable for all.
C. And, most importantly, establish a bold and assertive policy that will create a strong yet adaptive national security architecture and action to obliterate terror, kidnapping, banditry, and all other forms of violent extremism from the face of our nation.

5. Umeadi Peter Nnanna – All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA)
Umeadi Peter (age 67) was a Chief Judge of Anambra state judiciary. He is a professor of Law, a politician and a party chieftain. In his manifesto, we have the following three inclusive:

A. The aim would be to resuscitate our economy and enhance our well being
B. Emphasis would be laid on agriculture, industrialization and services
C. The education sector would be seen and treated as a priority.

6. Adenuga Sunday Oluwafemi – Boot Party (BP)
Mr Sunday Adenuga (Sonny), (age 48) is a businessman and a Risk and Control Leader and expert. He is from Ogun state. His focus for running is to create leadership framework targeted at bringing the best out of Nigerians, we have these three manifestoes from him:

A. Create a technology hub where youths’ energy and resilience will be used to bring more foreign reserves to our country.
B. Energy wise, his government will go through renewable energy.
C. Solving insecurity will be to unbundle Nigeria policing into at least three-tier levels – community, state and federal policing.

7. Obi Peter Gregory – Labour Party (LP)
Obi Peter Gregory (CON), (age 61) is a Nigerian Businessman and politician who served as Governor of Anambra for 8 years. He has been in business and banking, and held several high-ranking executive positions at these banks. In his 72-page manifesto, we have these three among them:

A. Move Nigeria from consumption to production.
B. Improve access to finance, particularly to MSMEs, youths and women, to significantly reduce unemployment and insecurity.
C. Build expansive and world-class infrastructure for efficient powers supply, rail, road and air transportation, and pipeline network, through integrated public-private partnerships, and entrepreneurial public sector governance.

8. Musa Rabi’u Kwankwaso – New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP)
Musa Rabi’u Kwankwaso (age 66) is an engineer and Nigerian politician. He served as the Governor of Kano state and was appointed as the first Minister of Defence of the forth republic with no military background from 2003 – 2007, under the former president Olusegun Obasanjo. Based on his experience and past records, he has these among many others in store for Nigerians if he emerge.

A. Secure the entire country, ensure peace and peaceful coexistence reign, and work deliberately to strengthen the bond of unity amongst Nigerians of all backgrounds.
B. Nigerian Economic Revamping Strategy on a three-deck implementation scheme:
Stage I: Emergency Rescue Plan (ERP)
Stage II: Targeted Stimulation/Job Creation
Stage III: Long-term and Sustainable Investment
C. Access, quality and productivity shall be the cornerstones of our education reform. Our administration will first focus on upgrading, rehabilitating and expanding the existing ones to the level of global competitiveness.

9. Abubakar Atiku – Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
Abubakar Atiku (GCON) (age 75) is a Nigerian business mogul and politician. He served as the vice-president of Nigeria from 1999 – 2007. Atiku has been frequent in the presidential race as he has contested for 5 times and 2023 makes it the 6th time. He is a man of experience and he has these to offer among many unifying manifestos:
A. He would ensure more recruitment of personnel, purchase more equipment, train more personnel, and commit more funds to the security agencies.
B. Continue with the economic policies Obasanjo implemented, particularly, the privatisation of ailing public enterprises.
C. Restructuring agenda is intact and it will be implemented from his first day in office.

10. Abiola Latifu Kolawole – Peoples Redemption Party (PRP)
Abiola Kolawole (age 60), eldest son of the late Moshood Kashimawo is a Nigerian Politician. After his youth service year in Zaria, he joined his father’s business, some of which he still heads. Popularly known as Kola Abiola, he’s active in Nigeria’s politics. Like his father, he has great promises:

A. Reinvent Nigeria’s security architecture. 
B. 25% inclusion of women and people with disabilities in government. 
C. Provide employment opportunities for the teeming unemployed youths to enable them contribute their quota to their respective areas and nation at large.

11. Adebayo Adewole Ebenezer – Social Democratic Party (SDP)
Adebayo Adewole Ebenezer (age 50) is a Lawyer, Politician and founder of KAFTAN TV. He attended Law school in the United States of America and passed the New York Bar exams. He’s certified to practice Law in the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada. This vast lawyer has quite a lot of manifestos, among which are:

A. Ensure government is removed from the Board of Trustee of the Education Trust Fund (TETFUND).
B. Address the issue of waste in the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) which cost huge sums of money that could provide infrastructure and other services.

12. Ado-Ibrahim Abdumalik – Young Progressives Party (YPP)
Ado-Ibrahim AbdulMalik (age 58) is a Nigerian politician and businessman, dealing in automobiles. He’s the first black man to own a Formula 1 team, Arrows F1. He runs an energy company, Nigus Enfinity. This Kogi prince has great innovations to offer Nigerians, among which are:

A. Reform and upgrade the oil and gas mono economy and diversify into another economic model.
B. Development of modern farming complexes.
C. Reforming the military by recruiting younger minds and personnel who are educated, experts in their field, modern and diverse in thinking.

13. Nwanyanwu Daniel Daberechukwu – Zenith Labour Party (ZLP)
Nwanyanwu Daniel Daberechukwu (age 62) is a Nigerian Lawyer cum Politician who served as the national chairman of the Labour Party (Zenith Labour Party) in 2004. His key promises include:

A. Return petrol’s price to less than 100 naira per litre by revamping refineries and building modular refineries in all states of the federation.
B. Rebrand the Police Force by reviewing salaries and giving members of the Nigerian Police Force free accommodation to curb bribery and corruption.
C. Revamp and strengthen the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Scheme by moving corps members from cities to the hinterland for community-based service. In addition, they, male and female, shall be subjected to a 6-month mandatory military training and most will be posted to the police force and other law-enforcement/security-related duties.

Now, we have heard from them, it is up to us to choose quality and capability over our sentiments and emotions. Nigeria can be Great Again.
