Blank Minds

(This is a duet that vividly expresses the idea that the pursuit of success is inevitable. The strive to succeed makes up 70% of the journey of every man. It may be good to chase after success but some have become so desperate that they use extreme measures. The poet whose words are in Italics is Akinbayonle while Oluwanifemi writes in normal font)

Darkness travels amongst men

Men like arch devils & djinns. Lost ones with lightless path

They kept amongst them evil they should have left....

I see them in my dreams, they frolic like shadows at night…

I guess it's fear they could not bear & the temptation of things they could not hear

Heat they could not feel, watch them dance to unheard rhythms, bass less drums, & silly hymns…

Whispers of desires fleeting towards their ears punctured naivety, daydreams & goals, laid down in illusion’s infantry

What? Perhaps, would you call them?

lost men like forgotten kings & worldly queens…

Or more like barren souls who seek what their soul didn't bring

So they sing towards heaven with emotionless voices expressing defiance & hate, disguised as prayer and praise

Woes to the disguised worshippers!

I hope purity holds your heart soon & bring clarity to your faces

But if then you chose to stray like the ones before you, then what lies ahead is painful threads & awful ends

It's a vision formed from dreams, a purpose encased in success

It's a belief that would keep running, a thing that would keep growing
