Stretch marks, are reddened or whitish streaks that appear on the skin. They are common on ladies although, guys can get them too.
Stretch marks are not always due to sicknesses or infections, as they can be as a result of pregnancy, growth spurts in teenagers (especially during puberty), rapid growth in muscle size due to weight lifts or work outs. Even though stretch marks can be treated with dermatological creams which can make them less noticeable, but like any scar, they are permanent.
Today, we’ll be bringing to you our interaction with a guest who shares her views on stretch marks.
ARKore Writes: Can you introduce yourself?
Guest: My name is Fagbaibi Oluwatomisin Elizabeth (smiles).
ARKore Writes: What’s your knowledge about stretch marks?
Guest: Stretch marks are skin conditions that appear due to stretching kind of. I didn't really know much about it until I discovered how bad people think of it.
ARKore Writes: how do you feel about it?
Guest: I feel indifferent about it though.
ARKore Writes: Words to those out there having the marks?
Guest: It is not something they have to be ashamed of. They didn’t put it out there themselves and, think about those that are born with skins that looks like they’ve got a burn on it
ARKore Writes: Words to those seeing it as a plague on themselves?
Guest: If those seeing it as a plague want to treat it, they can go ahead. But, never to look down on themselves because people don’t like it on them. It’s nobody's business if they choose to leave it.
ARKore Writes: Do you know a lasting solution to remedy it or have you met someone who ever tried to get rid of it?
Guest: They could actually get skin-care products. But, I just advise that they don’t get the ones that’ll have a negative impact on their skin.
ARKore Writes: Thanks for the time.
Guest: You’re welcome.
